**Job Title: Library Delivery Driver**

**Job Purpose **The postholder’s main role is the provision of a delivery and collection
service to all Aura Library service points across the county of Flintshire.

To support Aura library colleagues and customers ensuring safe and
effective movement of daily stock and other resources to Aura branch
libraries.

**Principal **1. Maintain the vehicle in a roadworthy condition. Carry out

**Accountabilities **completion of daily defects and maintenance checks, including fuel,

oil, and water levels. Keep the vehicle in a clean and tidy condition.
Record an accurate log of all such maintenance.

2. To provide daily deliveries of stock to meet the delivery schedule
provided, arranging deliveries according to service priorities. Loading
and unloading of stock at each site ensuring a smooth transition of
customer requests, new stock and other resources to each library.

3. At central reserve store ensure stock is stored safely, carry out
daily sorting and prepared ready for collection and delivery to other
North Wales Authorities

4. Ensure vehicle safety measures are in place and follow the
procedures for visitors to the fleet management depot e.g. wearing of
Hi Viz jacket when 6 weekly inspection or vehicle maintenance is
required.

5. Follow Aura’s Health & Safety policy and take responsibility for
themselves, other employees, and the general public as a
representative of Aura when on the road.

**Knowledge and **Full clean driving licence and experience of driving delivery vehicles.

**Skills**

Good standard of education.

Good written and communication skills, to complete documentation
daily and arrange vehicle repairs & liaise with fleet management.

Knowledge of Flintshire areas and able to read a map and interpret
written instructions.

Arrange vehicle repairs & liaise with Alltami Depot where necessary.

Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures.

**and competencies**

You are required to hold a full current C1 UK driving licence and have
knowledge and experience of driving a light van or similar vehicle.

The post is an active role with daily lifting of several crates or boxes,
as deliveries will be 25kg maximum per crate.

You need to have the ability to work alone using your own initiative, as
well as working as part of a busy team.

Understanding of basic vehicle maintenance.

The postholder must be able to pack fragile and/or expensive items
when required and transport them safely.

There will be a requirement to undertake a driver assessment with
Fleet Management.

Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures.
