**Job objectives and responsibilities**
- **Work towards SVQ L3 plumbing course.**
- **Apprenticehsip course will either be day or block release from college. When you are not in college, you will learn via on the job training at at a campus across the North East Scotland College portfolio. Supported by a full time plumber, also employe by Mitie.**
- **To be able to perform maintenance, repair, installation of systems and equipment within the scope of their specific disciplines, with supervision.**
- **To ensure all planned maintenance is carried out in line with its scheduled date.**
- **To ensure the company Health and Safety policy is adhered to.**
- **To undertake plumbing and heating duties across a portfolio of buildings in the Aberdeenshire area**
- **This role is based at North East Scotland College covering properties in Aberdeen and the North East of Scotland**
- **Use of Pool Vehicle (when of the appropriate age)**
- **Must be available for the academic year starting towards the end of August.**

**Main duties**
- **Carry out planned preventative maintenance on plumbing services as required and in line with skill set**:

- **Perform scheduled maintenance service on plumbing/heating systems and fixtures (incl.) as directed**
- **Install, repair and maintain water treatment equipment, piping and controls**:

- **Install, repair and maintain underground storm sanitary and water piping systems**:

- **Install, repair and maintain sinks, tubs and toilets**:

- **Install, repair and maintain water heaters and conditioners**:

- **Install, repair and maintain plumbing fixtures, appliances and trim**:

- **Test pipe systems and fixtures for leaks**
- **Be available to carry out necessary works outside normal hours with additional remuneration.**
- **Procure materials and equipment to carry out works.**:

- **Complete worksheets / PDA for works undertaken representative.**:

- **To understand and complete all work related documentation accurately and on time, including but not limited to purchase card receipts and timesheets**
- **Able to diagnose and repair simple and complex issues on various building systems.**
- **Identify and action any faults/remedial works in conjunction with the Servicedesk.**
- **Use handheld technology effectively to carry out all tasks.**
- **Assist other team members when required or as directed from Operations Manager/Contract Manager**
- **Ensure that all tasks are completed within the contractual time scales.**

**Person Specification**
- Willingness to learn and gain experience in the building services and Facilities Management industry as a recognised trade technician
- Ability to undertake small plumbing tasks, however the apprenticeship will teach you all you need to know.
- Ability to work on own volition, produce reports and data for the Helpdesk as required.
- Strong customer care focus & high levels of communication skills
- Health and Safety awareness
- Wishing to gain a Full driving licence
- Willing to work at heights
- Committed, reliable and flexible
- Able to work as part of a Team and to work on their own
