**Role -**Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant
Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to work within a large primary school in Cardiff We are looking to recruit an individual who have a passion for education and the desire to improve children’s learning.This is a very rewarding role where no two days will be the same. You will be required to work within a specialist resource base based within a mainstream primary school. The aim of a specialist resource base is to provide targeted support which enables childrento make progress, achieve their identified outcomes and continue to access the mainstream curriculum while being provided with a specialist intervention program.
**The Role
You will be working closely with pupils from the ages of 3-11 with severe learning difficulties which can often be accompanied with co-existing conditions including ADHD, autism and/or emotional and mental health difficulties. This role will be more challengingthan working in a mainstream setting but working on a 1:1 or small group basis with pupils provides a truly rewarding opportunity. You will be assisting pupils with daily activities, providing educational support, and supporting teaching staff.
- Previous experience supporting individuals with additional learning needs, whether that is children or adults.
- Passion for education and developing children’s learning
- Confidence to deal with challenging situations e.g challenging behaviour
- A resilient and calming manner
- The desire to improve and develop their own skill set
**Essential Requirements
- DBS Child only certificate which is registered on the update service (assistance will be provided if necessary)
- 2 References dated within the last 6 years
- Registration with the Education Workforce Council (assistance will be provided if necessary)
- Level 2 Safeguarding Course (Provided by Teaching Personnel)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
