We are currently recruiting for a temporary Homeless Assistant on behalf of our public sector client. You will be responsible for providing admin support to the Homeless team relating to the day-to-day work of the team.

Hours of Work - The role is office based working 37 hours each work. The opening hours for the team are Monday to Friday 08.30am to 5pm, Thursday 10am to 5pm and Friday 08.30am to 4.30pm.

Main Duties:

- Act as the first point of contact for customers - dealing with telephone, electronic, and face-to-face enquiries
- Maintain and update manual and in-house computerised recording systems
- Ensure the team has an adequate supply of stationary and other daily requirements
- Provide admin support at meetings - including minute taking
- Provide general admin support - including producing letters, filing, photocopying, word processing, file updating, etc.
- Recognise and highlight any concerns about service users to an appropriate manager in respect of safeguarding, fraud and risk, and where risk is identified undertake risk assessments
- Ensure a prompt and efficient services and information to service users, partner agencies, and other stakeholders

Personal Spec:

- GCSEs grades A* to C (including English and Maths) - or relevant equivalent experience
- Confident in use of IT particularly Microsoft Office
- Experience working within a similar admin role
- Experience of dealing with members of the public and liaising with other organisations
- Experience of keeping appropriate case notes and work-based systems accurately updated
- Able to effectively prioritise your workload to meet deadlines while working under pressure
- Knowledge surrounding data protection
- Knowledge surrounding safeguarding
- Good communication both written and verbal
- Able to adapt communication styles and approaches to suit the situation and audience
- Ability to present statistical information accurately and professionally
- Excellent customer service skills
- Minute taking experience
