**Darlaston Builders Merchants** is one of the Midlands leading suppliers of Building, Landscaping, Civils and DIY materials and operates from six branches across the Black Country and Birmingham, with over 70 employees.

**Key responsibilities-**
- Greet and serve all Trade Counter customers
- Processing customer orders using inventory and sales software
- Handling customer payments
- PURCHASING Stock
- Building an excellent knowledge of our brands and products to better advise customers
- Keeping stock in good order and keeping the Trade Counter area clean and tidy
- Regularly rotating layout within Trade Counter area to provide new points of interest for repeat customers
- Working with our marketing team on promotions and special offers
- Working with our ecommerce team to promote stock on online sales platforms
- Reporting any damaged stock, incorrect or missing items
- Ensure all work is carried out within appropriate Health and Safety guidelines

**Mucking in.** Checking and unpacking deliveries, stocking shelves, cleaning the branch and putting orders together.

**Delivering great service.** Providing a great customer experience with a smile on your face - no matter how busy you are.

**Asking questions and building relationships.** Making sure our customers leave the store with everything that they need for the job.

**Building a fun working environment.** Maintaining our great product availability and high store standards, while making sure that your branch is somewhere everyone loves coming to work.
- Help out with branch operations such as loading and unloading deliveries, uploading purchase orders, and checking goods received
- Develop their own customer base and report back to the branch manager and directors on a monthly basis with updates
- Manage other team members on the counter and deal with any issues accordingly
- Monitor all sales and ensure all sale targets are met. Experience of securing sales if the customer is unhappy with pricing
- Monitoring regular products and pricing with competitors in the area to ensure prices are kept competitive

**Hands on approach -** willingness to do what's required
- **Valid driving licence**:

- **Trade counter experience**:

- **Must have builders merchants experience or building materials knowledge**:

- **Basic IT skills especially microsoft excel**:

- **Advantageous if you possess experience with our EPOS system Kerridge K8**

**Working Hours** -Saturday 7.30am - 5pm and Sunday 9am - 2pm

**COMPETITIVE SALARY DEPENDING ON BUILDERS MERCHANTS KNOWLEDGE

**MUST HAVE PREVIOUS BUILDERS MERCHANTS/CIVILS EXPERIENCE

**MAYBE REQUIRED TO WORK AT ANY OF THE LOCATIONS B70, B33, B11 (NEW SITE)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From £12.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 per week
