**Job description**

Thrive Women’s Aid (Thrive WA) is an established and well respected organisation delivering support and services to women and families impacted by domestic abuse. Funded by Henry Smith, the key ambition of the LIFE project is to continue to deliver and develop sustainable, user-led, provision that will enable service
- users to access group support and activities beyond their period of crisis.

Your role as the Groups and Activities Officer will be to support service users who have experienced domestic abuse by facilitating groups and activities that improve mental wellbeing. You will support service users to maintain activities, friendships and community links within Thrive and through promoting other local services.

The post will run coffee mornings, group sessions and activities with support from the Projects Manager and our team of volunteers.

You will model high quality practice in your own work, ensuring that service user involvement and person centred approaches are embedded in service values.

You will help with project monitoring and evaluation and ensure that service users are referred into other appropriate services where needed. Multi-agency working will be an expectation of the role.

You will be key in recording accurate service outcome data for use in reports to funders and ensure that comprehensive records of outcomes and activities of the service are uploaded to our data management systems.

Job Purpose

To deliver groups and activities with the purpose of empowering survivors of domestic abuse and mental illness to form and maintain support networks in the community. Service user consultation will form the basis on which our regular timetable of events is shaped and evaluated. Working in partnership with other relevant community organisations will be key to the delivery of this role.

Key accountabilities

1 Support and guide service users who have experienced mental health difficulties following their experiences of domestic abuse to access services and social networks within their community.

2 Provide a high quality service, ensuring that all elements of the project are service user focused, inclusive, and promote empowerment.

3 Plan and deliver a rolling calendar of domestic abuse recovery programmes including, but not limited to, the Recovery Toolkit and Own
My Life.

4 Plan and deliver regular group activities, including coffee mornings, based at our main office or other community venues.

5 Deliver regular consultation and evaluation sessions to ascertain the practical, emotional and service delivery needs of women in accordance with Thrive WA policy and funder requirements.

6 Stay up to date with other local service provision and opportunities for partnership working. Alongside this you will ensure that the referral route into the project is clear and straightforward for individuals and wider professionals.

7 Refer women (internally and externally) for specialist support; maintaining collaborative working relationships with all Thrive WA staff and partners.

8 Organise and facilitate virtual and face-to-face group work, utilising volunteers where appropriate.

9 Keep appropriate records, in line with GDPR
