**About The Role**:
**About the Role**

**We are recruiting a Funding Officer on a 12-month fixed term contract**to join our passionate, vibrant and friendly team in Northern Ireland to be part of ensuring our funding supports a wide variety of communities and places locally.**

**We have a hybrid approach to working. We have an office in Belfast but as a Funding Officer you will be a mobile worker and can work from a local community venue and from home.**

**We have three local funding teams each led by a Funding Manager and comprising a team of Funding Officers. We are looking for a Funding Officer to join our North Western Team and work with other Funding Officers to cover the Derry City and Strabane District Council area.**

**Part of your role will be to represent the Fund within your local area including at funding fairs and external meetings and create opportunities for people to come together. Sharing learning from your conversations, events, grant holder reports and evaluations you will support the Fund in maximining our impact as a grant maker.**

**Hours**: Full time 37 Hours per week. Flexible working considered**

**Interview Date**:w/c 8 May 2023**

**Location**:Derry City and Strabane District Council area but with the expectation of travel within your local team area and occasional travel to the Belfast Office

**Essential Criteria**

- Strong listening, written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on written communication for assessment purposes
- Confidence to use your own judgement, take initiative and challenge when appropriate
- Relational skills: Ability to nurture, develop and promote effective relationships and communication with colleagues, community organisations and other external agencies with a strong commitment to equity and inclusion
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of the VCSE sector in Northern Ireland and the context it operates in.
- Values-driven and passionate about the Fund’s purpose

**Desirable Criteria**
- Understanding of financial planning and business plans, ability to analyse accounts and numerical data.
- Demonstrable IT skills, in particular Microsoft Office products and the ability to learn detailed processes quickly and accurately.
- An ability to manage your own workload with mínimal supervision

The ability to drive and access to a vehicle is beneficial for this role but not essential.
