Maintenance Section Leader

As one of our trusty maintenance team, you'll keep our Regional Distribution Centre in tip-top shape and running smoothly.

Reporting and repairing problems, you'll use your engineering skills to keep a wide range of machinery in full working order. From refrigeration units to the racking that holds pallets, you'll make sure our centres are ready to handle whatever the business needs from them.

Please note, the salary displayed is based on a 45 hours per week contract. Aldi are able to also offer 40 hour contracts and in these instances, the salary offered would be pro-rated.

Bardon is Aldi’s first globally automated site with the facilities and MHE maintenance team pivotal to the plant’s success. Aldi require Maintenance Section Leaders who will be empowered to shape Aldi’s future and tackle some of the toughest technical and logístical challenges around. We need your technical skills, innovative approach, and experience to help us continue to transform our business whilst maintaining a cost leadership model. A key element of the role will be to lead the resident engineering team whilst integrating Aldi’s culture and values of simplicity, responsibility, and consistency. To underpin the Aldi culture and values, you will engage and develop the knowledge and initiative of your team following the principles of the ALDI Management System (AMS).

**Key Responsibilities**
- Responsible for leading a team of resident maintenance technicians to deliver contractual KPI’s consistently and successfully on time and within budget
- To mentor, guide, monitor and develop the team in a way that promotes Aldi values and behaviors whilst supporting the requirements and activities to deliver in full, on time, every time
- Supports the implementation of Continuous Improvement opportunities, provides feedback on performance
- Manage the Health and Safety calendar, risk assessments and safe systems of work, ensuring that H&S standards are designed into maintenance tasks, modifications, and new equipment
- Manage the maintenance calendar ensuring all (SOPs) standard maintenance procedures are completed to ISO 55000 standards enabling high performance and reliability of the plant
- Support Audits of site performance and challenge current maintenance strategies to ensure maximum value is maintained
- Prioritise and plan MHE repairs with mínimal disruption in line with business needs.
- Prioritise and plan Facilities maintenance with mínimal disruption in line with business needs
- Management for legislative requirements of maintenance e.g., refrigeration system, sprinklers, lifting equipment
- Manage the engineering staff and non-staff budgets, identifying savings where possible
- Completing PR’s (Personal Reviews) and ITNA’s (Individual Training Needs Analysis) for direct reports within their team
- Responsibility for the staff Rota ensuring site engineering coverage is maintained with cost consideration
- Delivering performance KPI’s
- Ensure full utilization of the Aldi CMMS for all Safety Critical Maintenance, accurate spares management and scheduled maintenance
- Reviews EOS (End of Shift Reports), investigates fault times and incidents, undertaking RCA (Root Cause Analysis) to minimize the risks of re-occurrence
- Maintains all documentation related to safety and asset management in accordance with ISO 55000
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with all Health & Safety. This includes COSHH, LOLER, PUWER, Electrical Inspection & Testing and all other legislation requirements.
