As part of the Issuer Cloud Engineering (ICE) team, you will build and support solutions to meet the requirements of our business owners and customers.

You will be part of an ecosystem of agile and cross-functional teams that are delivering cloud and hybrid products and services; and are dedicated to continuous service improvement and technical innovation.

**Summary of the role**

As a DevOps Engineer you are responsible for
- the design, implementation and testing and support of infrastructure solutions
- delivery using infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD and GitOps methods and processes
- continuous research and adoption of cloud vendor enhancements and solutions
- upholding and updating technical standards
- delivering and receiving technical mentoring and training within a cross-functional team
- collaboration within an ecosystem of agile teams using Scrum and Kanban

Responsibilites
- Provide on-call support on a rota basis for issue resolution as well as acting as an secondary technical escalation point for on-call teammates.
- Create and configure infrastructure following audit, compliance and infosec policy
- Automate infrastructure delivery using IAC and DevOps toolsets
- Reuse and enhance existing automation capabilities; initiating team
- and department
- wide demonstration and implementation. Advocate reuse of current automation capabilities across projects outside the immediate team; and/or bring new enhancements into team backlog and roadmap. Discover and adopt automation capabilities from other teams or vendors - requesting enhancements directly.
- Review work orders to assure requirements are clearly defined and understood. Conduct research and engage requesters to refine and complete requirements gathering. Organise and facilitate cross-team (including client) working sessions to validate and approve solutions.
- Complete troubleshooting to progress tasks and remove blockers across multiple tools and services; escalate to colleagues for support and training where required. Coordinate vendor support for yourself and team members. Offer and provide guidance and training on areas of specialism to the team. Communicate issue resolution details to the wider departmental teams to accelerate future delivery.
- Assure your changes align with ATO (Approval To Operate) quality standards for resilience, availability, disaster recovery & business continuity, patching, compliance and monitoring. Define and execute procedures and tests to evidence ATO compliance across team deliverables. In the case of exception from existing standards, obtain appropriate sign off from relevant stakeholders and update documentation. Track vendor service changes that could alter our ATO attestation and update documentation or process accordingly.
- Follow change control processes and provide review and approval of peer reviewed changes. Provide comments and feedback to improve, or if necessary, reject requested changes. Coach colleagues to avoid common or repeated errors in code, providing team-wide training as required.
- Ensure skills are updated by attending the appropriate courses, utilisation of reference materials, Internet resources, and 3rd party seminars. Coach and train other team members using your own training experience. Coach and train colleagues outside the immediate team using original training materials. Anticipate future skills needs and work with management and peers to integrate suitable study and training to personal training plans.
- Have a high level of interaction with your immediate team and immediate customer/s or close business unit/s. Build relationships with peers in other teams to provide support and feedback for team delivery. Be a point of contact within the team for specialised interactions with other technical teams.
- Understand and articulate how your work aligns with team goals and corporate strategy.
- Support your product owner and team with proactive involvement in team ceremonies and work task definition. Create and promote changes in the team backlog to enhance future iterations of product and services.
- Accept or self-select large or complex design briefs to improve the current product set and incorporate new functions or services. Progress review and acceptance through defined peer process/es and present to the team. Decompose into suitable user-stories for execution.
