A self employed professionally qualified BACP Counsellor with experience in various trauma and long term health therapy. The Stroke Charity delivers counselling support to stroke survivors and their families. Stroke presents various emotional issues and is a life changing and dramatic event, which causes trauma and challenges to the stroke survivor and their family. Counselling is required to understand life after stroke and to create self help tools and therapy to support the individual.
Experience of completing associated documents and plans. Performance reporting is a prerequisite for this post, as well as documenting the outcomes for those undergoing therapy.
Therapy will take place in peoples homes and hospital. A clear understanding of lone working and the need to mitigate risk and to work with professional boundaries is a must. Clinical and line management supervision will be provided. Salary to be discussed.

Part-time hours: 20-25 per week
