**1:1 SEND Specialist Teaching Assistant Needed in Derby Area**

**Key Skills and Duties**:

- Working on a 1:1 basis with a child with SEND, providing tailored support to meet their individual needs.
- Collaborating with a team of experienced teaching assistants to create a fun and engaging environment for the children in your care.
- Utilizing different behavior management techniques to support the child in regulating their emotions and promoting positive behavior.
- Supporting the child with their academic and personal development, including activities such as reading, writing, and social skills.
- Maintaining regular communication with teachers, parents, and other professionals involved in the child's care to ensure consistency and progress.

**Who We Are Looking For**:
We are seeking a dedicated individual who has experience working with children or adults with additional needs. Experience with different behavior management techniques and a proven track record of helping children regulate their emotions are highly desirable for this role. Additionally, experience working with children who have emotional needs would be a significant advantage.

**The Importance of Forming Strong Relationships**:
In this role, you will be working closely with a child on a 1:1 basis, making it essential to form strong, trusting relationships. Your ability to connect with the child, understand their individual needs, and provide consistent support will be paramount to their success. We are looking for someone who is patient, empathetic, and dedicated to making a positive difference in the life of a child with SEND.

**About the Role**:
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent, Temporary contract, Fixed term contract, Temp to perm, Zero hours contract
Contract length: 12 months

**Salary**: £12.50-£16.50 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Derby City Centre, Derbyshire: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
