Become a Sulzer apprentice and engineer a better future At Sulzer Services Chessington we have a vacancy for an Electromechanical Apprentice to join our team and learn from skilled engineers while completing a level 3 apprenticeship at Kingston College.

**Over the course of the apprenticeship you will learn**:
To provide efficient investigation, electrical and mechanical repair, rewind or overhaul, maintenance, removal and installation service to the Service Centre to ensure all work is achieved to the required standards, time, costs and customer satisfaction. Working on all types of LV & HV motors and associated equipment, pumps and other rotating plant or machinery.

**Main tasks and responsibilities you will learn**:

- Dismantle, electrically test, inspect and rewind or overhaul both electrically and or mechanically motors, pumps and other rotating equipment both within the Service Centre or on customer sites
- Measure and record build tolerances, and ability to determine parts that require repair
- Operate specialized repair and testing equipment
- Complete required paperwork (including photography) for each job accurately and on a timely basis
- Develop and maintain good and effective relationships with clients to optimise customer satisfaction
- Ensuring all work meets the appropriate standards and quality control criteria as set out by the company.
- Adhere to Health and Safety responsibilities at all times including GPR 5 Annex E, and follow all appropriate procedures and use the appropriate protective equipment.
- Ensure that risks and hazards in activities undertaken in the role are acknowledged and conducted in accordance with processes, procedure and measures in place to mitigate risks

Entry requirements

GCSE Maths and English level 4 (or equivalent)

Training to be provided

In addtion to attending Kingston College for your off the job training for the Level 3 Engineering Apprenticeship, you will also have a formal mentor programme set up so that you are supported throughout your apprenticeship. There will be reguar reviews with both the college and employer to ensure you as the Apprentice are on track to achieve your apprenticeship and have the neccessary support required.

Things to consider

A pay rise will be given every year as the apprentice progresses through the programme and develops more skills.

Once our apprentices successfully complete their apprenticeships we are passionate about supporting their continuous development and progression within Sulzer. Upon being offered a permanent role you will be given further training opportunities and we will ensure we continue to support your learning. Previous apprentices have been sponsored through further education and a number of our apprentices have had opportunities to work abroad.
