The organisation has expanded over the past years and now provides a wide range of services for adults, families, children and young people within both the Refuge and the Outreach Support Centre. The ethos of Fortalice in relation to support is to focus on self-help, promoting self-esteem, confidence and independence to enable victims to break free from abusive relationships and reduce the chance of re-victimisation thus moving on to a self-sustaining, independent life.

**Children’s Transition Worker - Facing the Future Project**

**Part time - 21 hours**

**£10.73 per hour**

**Purpose of the role**:
The Children’s Transition Worker will work in both refuge and community settings to ensure the smooth transition of families as they leave refuge settings into the community. The work will involve supporting children and young people to ensure they are able to readjust, work through trauma and settle into a more stable way of life.

**Key skills**:

- Proven ability to understand the impact of trauma and the complexities around domestic abuse
- Proven ability to support children and young people with complex issues including challenging behaviour, mental health issues, self-harm and risk taking behaviour
- Experience of delivering individual support sessions with children and young people
- An ability to plan the delivery of individual sessions including creating, and using effectively assessment forms, evaluation tools to measure and record progress and outcomes and scheduling individuals sessions virtually and face to face
- A sound understanding of children’s safeguarding issues and a commitment to follow procedure
- **As this is a community based project and the work will involve travelling to different venues, therefore it is essential to have a current valid driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance for work**:
