Our client is a leading distributor of leisure/sports products. They represent category leading products and brands right across their portfolio. They are looking for a talented Press Officer to coordinate media activity for all brands in the UK and Ireland.

This role is the perfect job for someone with good background in public and media relations with a passion for sports. In this role you will be the main point of contact for journalists for some of the top brands in sports/leisure products. You will havethe opportunity to travel the UK and Europe as you develop relationships and ensure their brands have the best possible representation in the media.

They are looking for a team player with good copywriting and communication skills, excellent organization and a working knowledge or PR. You’ll be playing a very important role in the wider marketing team so a positive attitude and an ability to work wellwith others is essential.

**Main purpose of job**:

- Draft and manage all consumer and trade press release creation.
- Manage all media enquiries and interview requests.
- Manage and plan all editorial coverage in both consumer and trade print and digital.
- The management of all test fleet of products.
- Monitor, analyse and communicate all PR results on a daily, monthly basis.
- Coordinate and manage all PR activities, i.e press camp organisation, press days.
- Build strong relationships with key media and journalists.
- Coordinate and attend regular press visits with media and journalists - at least one a month
- Provide regular content for all B2B and B2C websites, blogs, catalogues and social when required.
- Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends and make recommendations of where to place advertising, advertorials and editorial content.
- Working with the marketing manager and marketing director to plan marketing and PR strategies for all brands.
- Build relationships with suppliers.
- Attend industry and consumer events as required and arrange journalist meetings.
- Lead on PR plans for all brands and make decisions on when press releases are needed - working with the marketing manager.
- Be the key PR contact for suppliers, journalists and brand managers.
- Seed product to all media proactively and reactively.
- Manage sample products sent directly by suppliers.
- Assist with management of external agencies and suppliers where necessary

**Required skills**:

- Excellent writing and editing skills and ability to write compelling copy.
- Relationship building with the media - both commercial and journalists.
- Verbal and written communication
- Ability to act as a key member of the marketing team and company as a whole
