**What you will do**:

- As a Reconciliations Team Leader at Metro Bank, you will lead a team that reconciles over 6,000 internal accounts daily to identify transactional differences for investigation which may have been caused by system incidents, process errors or misuse
- Provide operational rec break and aged reporting across the bank
- Lead a team that is the Bank’s central point of reference for confirming/auditing internal and external transaction flows
- Maintain Metro Banks 2nd line of defence against accounting, reporting and regulation error
- Ensure all reconciliations are completed accurately and to agreed SLA’s
- Inspire, Nurture & Grow colleagues in the Reconciliation team performing regular one to ones and reviews
- Report all reconciliation breaks and ageing items on a weekly basis and complete all required MI (including losses)
- Ensure account controls are regularly checked to ensure they are in alignment and all accounts are being reconciled
- Produce end of month reconciliation sign off and prepare month end pack for manger review and sign off

**What you will need**:

- Experience in performing and controlling reconciliations and all aged break reporting, using a reconciliation tool, ‘Accurate’ or equivalent
- Good knowledge of accounting processes and cash and payment transaction flows across the bank
- Proven experience leading a team
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to constructively challenge or bump up where processes are not meeting regulation standards
- Strong communication skills, easily able to communicate with stakeholders across all levels of the bank
- A proactive and problem-solving attitude for daily tasks and learning
- Understanding of the basic principles of double entry accounting, creating/using rec break reports or aged analysis reports, payment investigations/resolutions
- Experience of domestic and international payments
- Management Reporting / Analytical data experience
