Dental Nursing Apprentice

Chairside assistance:

- Assisting the clinicians with mixing filling material, mixing impression materials, charting using EXACT software. Preparing laboratory work for collection

Reception duties:

- Taking telephones calls, making appointments, taking payments, answering queries, filing records

Decontamination duties:

- Handling dirty and clean instruments, using autoclave and ultrasonic testing equipment

**QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED**:

- GCSE or equivalent Maths and English (Grade C/4 or Above) essential

**FUTURE PROSPECTS**: Depending on the circumstances of the business and upon completion of the apprenticeship programme, there could be a potential position of employment available.

**NATIONAL MINIMUM WAGE**:
The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £4.81 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.

Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.

The minimum wage rates are £6.83 an hour for 18-20 year olds, £9.18 for anyone aged 21-22 and £9.50 for anyone aged 23 and over.
