**What will you do**:
You will proactively manage the execution of required tasks by the management and development of the team of Quality Control Specialists within Distribution. You will report to and align your actions with Operational Quality Manager - Supply Chain.

**Responsibilities**:

- QC Despatch - to include, but not limited to;
- First Inspections of materials picked for shipment where applicable;
- Final Inspection of all orders prior to Despatch;
- Shipment of all orders from the GPMS system;
- Issue investigation and resolution.
- Proactively manage the workloads of QC personnel within Distribution, communicating frequently with fellow QC Leads to ensure maintenance of the ‘flow-to-work’ approach enabled via the utilisation of cross-trained personnel and by bringing up any concerns to the attention of the Operational Quality Manager - Supply Chain.
- Get along with the Operations Despatch Manager to ensure that the QC team is appropriately allocated to meet operational demands and that key projects are aligned between the QC and Operational functions.
- Support the QC personnel within Distribution in the performance of the required QC checks and ensure GMP compliance within operational activities is upheld.
- Represent the secondary level of ‘Quality’ customer concern in response to any issues / events identified during Operational activities as required by the Senior Quality Control Specialists and seek to confirm risk assessment adequacy and determined solutions are appropriate.
- Develop, coach and mentor direct reports and ensure training is provided to confirm individuals are appropriately equipped with both the technical and ‘soft-skills’ required to meet requirements of job role and indeed to support their Individual Development Plans.Handle the induction program of new starters in conjunction with other OQC Leads.
- Lead the performanceof direct reports via the formal PMD process and working with fellow OQC Leads, maintain responsibilities for annual leave approval, absence management and handle any issues with an individual’s performance in accordance with the approved disciplinary policies.
- Proactively contribute to the recruitment process for the OQC team, performing testing and interviews
- Act as a point of contact for client comments / queries in relation to QC Despatch processes and / or completed activities and proactively manage any responses requested of QC Distribution.
- Identify the requirements for and appropriate methods of delivery of training / coaching / development for QC Specialists / Senior QC Specialists to ensure all individuals operational within the QC Distribution function are competent and confident to perform required tasks.
- Maintain compliance with GMP, HSE and ongoing Quality programs.
- Manage the identification and development of continuous improvement initiatives, the teams required to undertake them and proactively support their activities. Proactively ensure that the project outcomes are implemented and results of changes duly recorded and evaluated.
- Lead the preparation of new and / or reviews and enhancements of existing Standard Operating Procedures related to the processes for Quality Control Distribution and functions supported by the QC Distribution team as appropriate.
- Run the generation and updating documentation required by QC / Operations to ensure it is fit for purpose, and metrics to demonstrate the performance of QC processes.
- Lead the investigations of any identified internal and / or external non-conformances identified during QC Distribution processes or notified to QC Distribution by another function.
- Oversee the development, testing and / or delivery of corrective / preventative actions
- Act as the primary point of contact with reference to client audits as the ‘Subject Matter Expert’ with reference to specifics pertaining to Quality Control activities within Distribution.
- Perform adhoc duties, as requested, to support the activities of the Quality department, as required.

**How will you get here?**
- Related experience in pharmaceutical GMP and working within Clinical Trials quality/packaging/distribution.
- Preferably has or is highly motivated to get management experience
- Is able to present leadership skills / capabilities.
- Experience of working without direct supervision / under own initiative within the remit of the role and to lead teams / delegate tasks appropriately.
- Able to demonstrate significant use of discretion and use of own initiative.
- Responsibility / accountability for quality of own work and of those under their direction.
- A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
