***James Fisher Tankships is a dynamic, growing division of James Fisher and Sons PLC, a UK service provider to the global marine industry and specialist supplier of engineering services. James Fisher Tankships is the commercial operator of the company’s fleet of 18 oil and chemical tankers. JFT is a forward looking owner with a newbuilding program underway.

**About the Opportunity**

The role will suit someone looking to take the first steps towards a career in commercial shipping. We are looking for a confident communicator who is able to think on their feet and is not scared to make quick but informed decisions.

The role will be based in London and we operate a hybrid model. Some travel (mainly within the UK and Europe) will be required.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Liaising with chartering and operations departments to ensure vessel schedules are optimised.
- Sending out position lists and communicating with customers and brokers.
- Becoming an expert in our voyage management systems and reporting process.
- Working with the Chartering team to develop client relationships and negotiation skills.
- Track vessel performance and KPIs across the fleet.
- Produce reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop close working relationships with other in house departments including Technical, Vetting, Crewing and Operations.
- Collating maintaining market data and information.
- Communicating voyage orders to the vessels.
- Bunker planning and purchasing.
- Any other duties as required by the business.
- High level of commercial acumen
- Shipping based qualifications/experience (desirable but not essential)
- Degree in Maritime/Shipping/ Business or relevant
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Experience in using Office 365
- A "Can-do" attitude and ability to think outside the box
