**About the Role** To assist and provide support to the Workshop team with the day-to-day management of the department in relation to maintaining, inspecting and repairing the company's HGV fleet.
Day-to-day
- safety inspections on all company HGVs ensuring VOSA manual standards.
- Regular diagnostic tests, welding, fabrication and body repairs should be performed as required and attending to broken down or accident-damaged vehicles and effect permanent or running repairs when needed.
We are ideally seeking someone with previous experience in HGV Maintenance having worked in a similar industry.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Carry out preventative maintenance, including inspection, tyre rotation and oil changes
- Perform regular diagnostic tests on trucks
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical defects on all vehicles and related ancillary equipment, replacing parts as and when necessary, in line with Company and legislative requirements
- Complete all relevant paperwork and documentation to the required standard and maintain accurate records of each repair performed on vehicles
- Provide on-the-job training for other Technicians/Trainees as required
- Continually identify possible warranty claims and escalate these to the appropriate person
- Remain up to date with the latest vehicle technology and changes by attending Company training programmes
- Maintain cleanliness in the workshop
- Time-served /Completed a relevant apprenticeship and qualified to a minimum of NVQ level 3 in HGV Maintenance or equivalent qualification in a mechanically biased discipline.
- Ideally experienced working in a similar busy haulage workshop environment
- Experience in general maintenance and servicing on HGV vehicles
- Full clean driving license
- Class 1 licence advantageous
- Good Communication skills
- Flexible to allow varied work patterns to meet the needs of the business

- Ability to meet strict deadlines
- Operate as part of the team in the workshop, harnessing a working environment which encourages teamwork
- Self-motivated - improvement orientated with a desire to undertake any other relevant training deemed necessary to enhance performance

Salary - £47,000 with additional benefits
