**About the Trust**
We’re a community and mental health trust, providing a wide range of services to people of all ages living in Berkshire. And to do this, we employ approximately 4,500 staff who operate from our many sites as well as out in people’s homes and in various community settings.
**What you’ll be responsible for**:
- Experience of advising managers on both straightforward and complex employee relations issues - disciplinary, grievance, early resolution, sickness absence, performance management up to and including dismissal and appeals.
- Providing professional HR advice to all levels of managers across the full range of employee relations issues including disciplinary, performance improvement, early resolution, sickness absence, redeployment, in line with our policies and employment legislation.
- Building credibility with managers through communicating information which may be complex or sensitive in a confident way.
- You will generate reports from the Trust Electronic Payroll Record (ESR) Business Intelligence tool and will analyse data available on the monthly People Dashboard.
**You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust**:
1. An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS
2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times
3. A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation
**You’ll have the following skills/experience**:
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- An effective team player
- Employee relations/employment /ACAS Best Practice (mandatory)
- Generalist operational HR knowledge (mandatory)
- Experience of working in a generalist HR or Employee Relations Advisory role in a multi-skilled professional and unionised environment
- Experinece of working in a customer-driven service
- Minimum of 6 months experience of providing generalist HR and Employee Relations advice within the NHS (desirable)
- Understanding of the NHS terms and conditions of service
