We have several offices in Central and Southern England and have ambitious plans to expand our business. To support the organisation’s growth, we have a new opportunity for a **Payroll Trainee** to join our team. **Based in Farnham**, this is a permanent full-time role with flexible working options (flexing your hours on different days to suit your lifestyle).

**The Role**

This is a Trainee position and full training and support will be given to develop your skills and abilities for a long-term career within our practice. Your key responsibilities would include the below:

- Build productive working relationships within Shaw Gibbs and with clients as required
- Process payrolls on a weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly basis (or as directed) for a range of clients of various sizes and from a diverse range of businesses
- Process starters and leavers, calculating statutory payments, RTI submissions, Pension Deductions etc.
- Liaise directly with clients to ensure accuracy of payroll data and answer phone queries, resolve problems and provide payroll support
- Communicate with clients, other staff, Directors and the HM Revenue & Customs

**About You**
- You must have GCSEs in Maths and English at grade 5/C or above
- Fully fluent in English with proven communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong IT skills, specifically Excel and able to pick up new IT packages very quickly
- Exceptional attention to detail
- A positive, confident and proactive attitude
- Enjoy working as part of a team and self-motivated
- Willing to undertake and succeed in a range of professional studies
- Relevant work experience and/or experience of working within a practice environment would be great but is not essential
