**Job title**: Whole Academy Intervention Tutor and Programme Lead

**Main purpose of job**:To lead, evaluate and deliver whole academy interventions covering
Literacy, Numeracy, SEND and SEMH areas. To develop a programme, which focuses on
SEND, PPG and other high-profile students with targeted 1:1 and small group, intense bursts of support once identified.

Academy Interventions

**Length of contract**:Permanent, 39 weeks per **Salary**: Band 4 Point 26 (range 26 - annum (term time only plus Inset), 32 hours per 30), Actual starting salary £21,672
week (plus half an hour unpaid lunch daily).
Monday 8.30am-4.30pm; Tuesday-Thursday
8.30am-3.30pm; Friday 8.30am-2.00pm
(3.10pm finish may be considered).

**Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities**

**Main Duties**:

- to develop an academy Literacy, Numeracy, SEND and SEMH vision and support the implementation of the academy’s Literacy, Numeracy, SEND and SEMH strategy in association with the Whole Academy Inclusion Lead, Whole Academy

Literacy Lead, Director of Mathematics and Whole Academy Mental HealthChampion
- to develop, implement and deliver a bespoke package of training and resources for support staff across the academy
- to work in conjunction with the Whole Academy Lead for Marketing, Media

Communications and Community Engagement to continue to build relationships with external partners and stakeholders
- lead the coordination of Literacy, Numeracy, SEND and SEMH improvement strategies and evidence-based intervention programmes with a particular focus on literacy and numeracy barriers, LAC and PPG students, as well as those without a

“label”
- to deliver Literacy, Numeracy, SEND and SEMH evidence-based interventions
- to coordinate and orchestrate the new Literacy and Numeracy digital test being introduced for a sample of Year 9 students to estimate performance nationally
- to raise standards of Literacy and Numeracy skills and SEMH wellbeing across the years, with a focus on Year 7 and 8 to embed programmes and strategies from the beginning of their Plume journey
- to work collaboratively with all curriculum areas to implement strategies to improve literacy and numeracy skills and to increase vocabulary
- to visit other schools to research best practice to offer the most appropriate interventions to our students
- to work closely with the Whole Academy Literacy Lead and LAIC staff to continue to establish the LAICs as learning hubs for building lifelong Literacy and Numeracy skills
- to gather referrals and to decide on the correct course of direction with relevant

Faculty Leaders to ensure a targeted approach for individual interventions
- to develop, create and implement masterclasses for parents/carers, support staff and teaching staff

**General**
- to participate in the performance and development review process, taking personal responsibility for identification of learning, development and training opportunities in discussion with line manager
- to comply with individual responsibilities, in accordance with the role, for health and safety in the workplace
- ensure that all duties and services provided are in accordance in the academy’s

**Person Specification - Qualifications and Experience Essential Desirable**
Educated to degree level standard of education
Speech, Language and Communication qualification
Evidence of further professional study

High standards of achievement and professionalism
Excellent communication skills both written and oral and the ability to communicate effectively with students, staff and parent/carers
Experience of successfully managing whole academy issues and initiatives
Experience of creating and delivering interventions in a Secondary School setting

Has the ability and ideas to ensure that Plume Academy continues to build upon its reputation
Organisational and planning skills including multi-tasking and prioritisation of tasks
Demonstrates outstanding leadership traits and is comfortable as a team player

Ability to utilise data effectively to monitor progress and evaluate performance of students
Staying calm and cheerful when working under pressure

Has the knowledge, understanding and experience of additional support and outside agencies to assist in meeting pupils needs
