Relief Cook

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Relief Chef to work alongside our Chef’s and join our friendly team here at Bloomfield Care Home.

Hours

The hours are generally 34 per week 8 am to 4 pm 3 days a week and 7.30 am to 5.30 pm one day on the weekend. The rate of pay will be £11.50 per hour and a higher rate of pay when covering the Chef.

**Responsibilities**:
You will be responsible for making and serving breakfast to residents.

Assisting the Chef with tasks designated to them.

You will be responsible for the Chef’s duties when they are on annual leave or off due to sickness.

Ensuring that any necessary preparation is made for the next day.

The Team are responsible for maintaining hygiene in the kitchen, by washing up through the day and cleaning the kitchen floor, and wiping the working areas as required.

You will be responsible for promoting a clean and hygienic kitchen following all company and legal food safety requirements.

You will be responsible for the accurate use and storage of stock, stock control, and will be involved in stock takes daily and monthly as well as stock rotation of goods to reduce wastage.

You will be responsible for assisting the Kitchen with the day to day running, preparing food dishes and keeping the areas clean and ready for service throughout the kitchen.

We will also require two references.
