Hunt4Employment is currently recruiting for a Gardener/Horticulturist for our fantastic client in Stroud.
You will be required to maintain the herbaceous beds throughout the park during the summer / early autumn.
**Monday to Friday 07:00 - 15:00**
**Horticultural tasks**:
- the planting and maintenance of trees, shrubs and annual bedding schemes;
- the annual maintenance of hedges;
- to assist the Supervisor and Chargehand with the supervision of temporary staff, to ensure that they are carrying out their duties professionally, safely and efficiently;
- grass care and maintenance; to include grass mowing using a wide range of mechanical equipment.
- Undertake visual daily checks of any machinery or tools before it is used to ensure that it is in good working order.
- To report any problems with machinery on the relevant paperwork and return to the relevant department immediately, explaining technical problems where required.
- To undertake any required paperwork to ensure compliance with all relevant transport and/or health and safety legislation.
- Sports turf maintenance.
- General cleansing operations to green spaces and various locations to include sweeping, litter collection, removing animal droppings and leaf fall using a range of tools provided.
- Emptying & cleaning dog/litter bins as per agreed schedules.
- Remove fly tips, fly posting and sharps as instructed by Supervisor/Team Leader.
- Snow and ice clearing during the winter period.
**Knowledge and experience**:
- Must possess a basic knowledge of horticulture
- Must have basic knowledge of health and safety requirements within a grounds maintenance environment
**Desirable requirements - qualifications, skills, abilities and experience**:
- Experience of working on grounds maintenance activities is desirable but not essential
- NVQ level 1 or 2 in horticulture
- Member of Grounds Management Association or equivalent
**Job Types**: Permanent, Temp to perm
Pay: £12.18-£13.18 per hour
Expected hours: 37 per week
