Preston, United Kingdom Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Full time

We are looking for you to join our dynamic, motivated and innovative Chemotherapy Support Team supporting the delivery of excellent and safe care for our patients.

You will be warmly welcomed and be a key part of the team working to support patients who are on active systemic anti-cancer treatment.

We work hard to deliver excellent care to our patients and their families and we all play our part to ensure the best possible care is given, working together to create a positive team spirit with strong communication.

This role is an additional post to join an expanding team of administrators who support the Chemotherapy Units at RPH and CDH ensuring patients are scheduled for their treatment and will require you to liaise closely with the nursing staff on both units and communicate clearly with patients and their families to ensure they receive their treatment. This is a real opportunity for you prove the value you can add whilst learning loads of new skills along the way.

If you are an enthusiastic, self-motivated person with a pleasant manner and good inter-personal and organisational skills who is looking for a new challenge and wants to work within our friendly team, this is the role for you.

Previous NHS experience is not essential as you will be given on the job training and support.

We also offer further development opportunities within the trust.

There is no doubt, in order to make a difference for the patients we serve at Chorley and Preston Hospitals, we need great people providing dedicated support behind the scenes, and the value that your support will bring cannot be underestimated.

We rely on our administrative team to support across our division and you will be joining a team that is working hard to transform the way we provide back office and administrative services.

This role can be challenging at times, as well as demanding, but we know this will motivate you and if you can keep your cool and keep things on track when things get chaotic, then you are just what we are looking for.

At Lancashire Teaching Hospitals, we take pride in caring for our staff as well as our patients. We recognise that working in a busy environment requires help with a healthy work-life balance. We also believe in ensuring that our staff get the chance to reach their full potential when working with us, which is why we open lots of doors for career progression once you join our team. With us, the sky truly is the limit

Working with us gives you the knowledge and sense of pride that every activity you do genuinely does make a difference to support our patients & staff, ensuring we keep thriving & delivering outstanding healthcare right across our local towns.

You will have access to varied development opportunities, learn new skills, meet fab people & do things you’d never have done.

You will make an impact, be challenged to think differently, be bold & help innovate to keep improving things. Everything we do centres around patient care and enhancing their experience which means your role is pivotal and something really to be proud of.

Integrate into the existing SACT (Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatment) team of both clinical and non-clinical staff. This is a new post and you will be pivotal to it’s evolution.

Be responsible for the appropriate management and allocation of timely treatment appointments, including SACT and blood tests, considering the nursing, pharmacy and environmental resources and constraints.

Be responsible for real time treatment deferrals. The post holder will be required to prioritise and manage this additional unscheduled demand in addition to routine appointment management.

Work collaboratively with other members of the team and the outpatient services within Oncology.

The post holder will also be expected to provide support for the wider administration/clerical duties.
