OBM are currently recruiting for a Mastering Specialist on behalf of our leading Oil and Energy client. The role is on a 6-month initial contract, working Monday to Friday based in Dyce.

**Job Purpose**:
Mastering Specialist serves as a single point of contact for all regional material mastering related requirements for new, updating, deactivation, enrichment of materials mastering. Receiving, recording, processing and updating the customer through standardised method across all assets. Effective engagement and communication with internal customers, PSCM Category Specialists and suppliers.

**Roles & Responsibilities**:

- The use of material master spares finder
- Receive requests for new material masters
- Validate material description, manufacturer/ part numbers to ensure quality of data sufficient to ensure end to end process fulfilment
- Verify materials having high impact to safety, production, or the environment and any relevant hazard class.
- Support enrichment of material description through contacting suppliers and following category guidance as required
- Ensure compliance with minimum attributes and communicate with team of any gaps
- Search against existing materials masters, to ensure non-duplication
- Ensure appropriate UOM for procurement and inventory management
- Provide information to requestors on appropriate MRP settings if needed
- Bom linking and/or editing of existing and new materials
- Obsolete material deactivation or reactivation
- Liaise with Inventory Specialist to ensure appropriate clean up action is taken for above
- Participation in various projects (duplicates / new assets)
- Liaise with vendors and suppliers to ensure appropriate material information

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- Logistics/Materials Management Qualification (e.g. SVQ3 Logistics Operations Management, CILT)

**Minimum Competencies (Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours)**:

- Maintains positive work relationships
- Previous materials or inventory management experience
- Supply chain and logistics experience
- Understanding of HSEQ legislation
- Computer literate with well-developed IT skills across the Microsoft suite, particularly Excel
- General product knowledge in relation to oil production spares
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing workloads and priorities, without compromising high standards
- Customer focused, with strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong attention to detail and excellent planning and organisational skills
- Solutions based, motivated to achieve the highest standards of performance and customer support
- Ability to work stand-alone while a positive contributor to the wider team

**Desirable Qualifications/Competencies**:

- Experience working in an offshore environment
- Dangerous Goods by Air - IATA or equivalent
- Dangerous Goods by Sea
- IMDG or equivalent
- The Safe Transport of Radioactive Materials by Sea certification
- The Safe Transport of Radioactive Materials by Air certification
