Hereford, United Kingdom Hereford Food Bank Full time

We are looking for a new volunteer Secretary to join Hereford Foodbank Trust. We serve those who come to us in need, as well as our small team of employees and over 70 volunteers. How do we do this?

Committing to our mission to relieve food poverty in Herefordshire.

Supporting the extraordinary work of our volunteers and the many generous donors of food (including supermarkets and local food producers) and money to the Foodbank.

Enabling the people who work with the Foodbank to deliver help to those in food poverty in Herefordshire.

Reflecting deeply on the decisions we are called to make, listening with humility to each other, and ensuring that we are always true to the values we hold at the heart of what we do.

Celebrating the steady progress we are making towards a community that has no need for foodbanks.

As our Secretary you will be supporting the Trust as the Board’s main point of contact for the Chair and the Trustees. You will be a highly organised person and good at record keeping. You will be an exceptional communicator in your written and oral skills, and you will bring a wealth of experience in this role to our Trust and enjoy getting involved with the Foodbank. You will have good IT skills and be comfortable reporting directly to the board. Duties will include organising the Trustees meeting, notifying details of the upcoming meetings and preparing all the necessary documents for the meeting, including minutes and reports. You will be experienced in providing accurate and detailed minutes with actions highlighted. You will be comfortable with chasing progress and ensuring actions are completed. Whilst this is an unpaid volunteer role, it is a vital support role to the Trust and relies on your discretion and excellent secretarial skills.
