The Royal United Hospital (Bath) as part of the Integrated Care Service initiative between Salisbury, Bath and Swindon.

It is a time of huge opportunities and impactful changes within the NHS modernising the service by adopting GS1 standards and Scan4Safety methods.

The successful applicant will have a drive to deliver outstanding Supply Chain Service to our clinicians and ensure all the processes are followed so we can ensure the patient is safe and all products are available to the end users.

This is a customer focused role providing a service to maintain a continuous supply of goods to the forefront to deliver patient and clinical care.

The role is varied and very physical in nature due to the activities that will be undertaken such as picking, packing, sorting, and the distribution of goods.

The role is a full time 37.5 hours / week Mon - Fri 08:00 - 16:00

We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised, and highly motivated individual to join our Supply Chain team at the RUH in Bath.

This role is to enhance the level of service delivered to the Acute trust and to drive improvements.

As a Supply Chain Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring that clinical services within the hospital have a continuous supply of goods in line with the Trust’s Inventory Management system.

With the use of this leading-edge technology, you will be able to influence how goods are moved, managed, stored, purchased & replenished within your remit.

The role requires scheduled visits to the departments, undertaking stock inventory using a provided inventory management system.

The role will include investigating discrepancies, problem solving, contacting suppliers, and conveying information to stakeholders in a timely manner.

Overview of role

To assist with the provision of a supply chain service to the wards and departments, managing stock to agreed levels.

To accept, unpack, check, and receipt goods into the
procurement and supply chain systems.

To represent the department and deal with customer queries and complaints in a professional and positive way.

Scope / Main Duties
- Purchase goods and services through the Procurement and Supply Chain systems against contracts as requested by the budget holders.
- Use international bar code standards to scan and capture lot/serial numbers and expiry dates, providing traceability through the supply chain and improving Patient care.
- Understand and follow routine Supply Chain Procedures to ensure the agreed levels of service are achieved.
- Maintain an acceptable working relationship with hospital departments ensuring quick and effective response to enquiries.
- Ensure accurate data entry is carried out to meet input deadlines within supplies systems.
- Inform the customer of any potential problems within the Supply Chain to ensure adequate stock or stock alternatives are available for end user.
- Resolve any queries and discrepancies; arrange uplifts or collections on behalf of the customer.
- Take responsibility for stock levels for departments ensuring optimum stock levels.
- Ensure goods are made available in a timely manner for distribution.
- Ensure all stock rooms are maintained in a tidy condition to meet current Health & Safety regulations.
- Ensure that all delivery documentation is filed in such a way to allow quick and easy retrieval when required.
- Process routine information advising customers and work colleagues using persuasive skill to maximise cost effectiveness within the Supply Chain.
