**Senior Geo-environmental Consultant**

**Working Pattern: 37 hrs per week - Monday to Friday**

**Location: West Bridgford, Nottingham**

Via is currently looking for an experienced Senior Geo-Environmental Consultant to join our join our established Environmental Management and Design team on a hybrid working basis based at our Trent Bridge House Office in West Bridgford, Nottingham.

You role would be sat within the Environmental Consultancy working on a range of diverse projects including; housing developments, new and existing schools, highways, landfill management, remediation, flood alleviation schemes to name a few, as well as supporting other services delivered by the wider company.

**The Job**

Key areas of responsibility will include:

- Providing project management, technical assessment and advisory services to support delivery of projects that may be complex and/or large-scale to internal and external clients
- Adhere to Health and Safety and Quality management systems, processes and requirements ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental legislation, policy and best practice
- Development of client relations ships through strong project management, communication and liaison with clients and a wide range of internal and external stakeholders including members of the public and elected Members
- Mentoring and supporting junior staff to enable them to achieve their potential, peer review of the team’s work, whilst maintaining your own CPD
- Act as an ambassador for individual schemes and the Company

**The Person**
Mainly you will self-motivated, practical, and importantly enthusiastic to be a vital part of our Environmental Management & Design Team, but there are just a few other things we’d like from you:

- Master’s degree in a relevant Geology, Environmental Science or Engineering related discipline, or a bachelor’s degree with proven and demonstrable knowledge gained through practical experience
- Membership of a relevant professional body and evidence of ongoing CPD maintenance, ideally working towards chartership
- Proven experience of writing and reviewing technical reports including Phase 1 Desk Studies, Phase 2 Intrusive
- Investigations, human health risk assessments and remediation strategies. Experience of writing detailed quantitative risk assessments and basic geotechnical assessment and reporting is desirable
- Up to date knowledge of relevant, technical guidance, legislation and good practice appropriate to the contaminated land sector
- Experience of providing information, communicating and working collaboratively
- Experience of managing projects to meet financial and programme targets
- Knowledge of procurement practices, including forms of tender and conditions of contract
