**Job Summary**:
As a Major Orthopaedic Scrub Practitioner (ODP), you will be responsible for assisting in surgical procedures and providing high-quality patient care during major orthopaedic surgeries. Your expertise and attention to detail will contribute to the seamless and efficient running of the operating theatre.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Scrubbing up and preparing the operating theatre and equipment for surgical procedures in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
- Assisting the surgical team in the planning and execution of major orthopaedic surgeries.
- Providing support to the surgeon during procedures by passing instruments, sutures, and other necessary equipment.
- Monitoring the patient's vital signs and ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the surgery.
- Maintaining accurate records of surgical procedures, equipment used, and any complications or issues that arise during surgery.
- Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to ensure effective communication and coordination of patient care.
- Sterilizing and organizing surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies to ensure their availability and cleanliness.
- Adhering to infection control protocols and maintaining a clean and sterile environment in the operating theatre.
- Actively participating in continuous professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills in orthopaedic surgery.

**Requirements**:

- Registered Practitioner with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as an Operating Department Practitioner (ODP).
- Extensive experience working as a Scrub Practitioner in major orthopaedic surgeries.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments, and equipment used in orthopaedic surgery.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with the surgical team and patients.
- Proficient in using electronic medical records systems for accurate documentation.

**Terms of Employment**:
This is a temporary position with a start date of 27/02/2024 and an end date of 27/02/2024. The shift timings are from 07:30:00 to 18:00:00. You will be compensated at a rate of £374.85 per shift.
