At Get Set Hire (GSH) Driver and Warehouse Operative is the face of GSH, they are responsible for upholding and representing the image of the company whilst delivering and collecting goods, courteous and helpful whilst always being on time for our customers.

As a Driver and Warehouse Operative, you are instrumental in contributing to a positive customer experience by coordinating workloads and ensuring that quality standards are met and the right merchandise and equipment in good working condition, is received by the client.

GSH is actively trying to minimise our global carbon footprint and Driver and Lead Warehouse Operatives should support GSH in that task.

**Role Description**

The main responsibilities of a Driver and Lead Warehouse Operative at GSH are:
**Driving Responsibilities**
- Always follow the company Health and Safety policy
- Follow the Company’s Driving at Work policy, whilst always maintaining safe and courteous driving.
- Adhere to all other Company policies including the Work Conduct and Behaviour Policy, Sickness Absence Policy and Smoking, Alcohol and Drug Policy.
- Maintain and execute exceptional customer service skills when dealing with clients.
- Maintain time relevant communication with the transport team, particularly if a run will not be on time.
- Loading and unloading warehouse equipment on to vans in a safe, secure, and neat manner.
- Picking or returning stock to the warehouse.
- Cleaning vehicles, internally and externally.
- Logging any missing equipment on collection notes
- Perform the vehicle safety checks at the start of every route and end of route, any vehicle issues should be reported immediately to the transport team.
- GSH is working towards Net Zero emissions. HVO fuel should be used as much as possible in all GSH compliant vehicles and Driver and Warehouse Assistants must reduce idling to a minimum as this reduces carbon emissions.
- Logging and communicating to the client if equipment is damaged on collection.
- Delivery and collection paperwork must be completed neatly and accurately.

**Warehouse Operative Responsibilities**
- Create and maintain an inspiring, respectful, and supportive culture within the warehouse team and throughout the business.
- Support management by over-seeing day to day warehouse operations through the delegation of tasks.
- Listen to warehouse team members’ feedback and escalate any concerns or conflicts to the warehouse supervisor if unresolved.
- Driver and Warehouse Operative must be competent in the use new software systems
- Accurately, safely and neatly load and unload merchandise and equipment onto and from Company vehicles.
- Meticulous approach to checking goods in and out ensuring the equipment is checked correctly on dispatch and return, ensuring the equipment is kept in optimum condition.
- Maintain eye for detail putting quality first when dealing with the stock.
- Pick or return stock to the warehouse.
- Ensure the warehouse is always kept neat and tidy and monitor & use the checks in place to ensure the drivers and premises complies with H&S requirements.
- Work and communicate effectively with other teams.
- Take on additional tasks as directed by a manager or supervisor.
- Driver and Lead Warehouse Operatives are expected to be flexible with rotating shift patterns to help meet business needs.

- Lead by example and have a hands-on approach to work
- Always wear a Hi-Viz unless specifically asked to remove it by a senior member of the Production team.
- Be a paragon of considerate driving whilst on the road.

- Excellent spoken and written English
- Excellent customer service skills and a helpful manner with customers and colleagues
- Use your problem-solving skills to help achieve client requests (avoid saying ‘no’).
