**The Role**
Hutchison Ports (UK) - Port of Felixstowe is the largest deep-water Port in the UK, to support our continued growth and development we are looking to recruit a Rail Operations Coordinator to join our team. Reporting into the Senior Manager - Rail, the Rail Operations Coordinator will be responsible for influencing contract and management activity on both internal and external stakeholders.
By supporting the strategic and tactical delivery of the Rail plan, the Rail Operations Coordinator will identify appropriate course of action to achieve the objectives, evaluate various alternatives and formulate necessary steps to ensure effective implementation of the Rail Strategy.
**Key Requirements**
- Prepare and contribute operations information and recommendations to support the delivery of the Rail plan.
- Implement and monitor productivity against targets, ensure compliance, and resolve problems.
- Monitor productivity and customer-service standards, identify trends, complete audits, and resolve problems.
- Analyse resource allocation and utilization to ensure effectiveness and optimum deployment for achieving Rail plan objectives.
- Influence shift teams to drive efficiencies in Rail plan delivery and other initiatives that support customer service. Encourage involvement and positive behaviours to reduce inefficiencies and waste.
- Review equipment availability and utilization, highlighting demands and opportunities to maximize output.
- Support performance improvements Controllers, Supervisors, and other Rail influencers by developing and implementing training.
- Prepare and present a live operations summary, using data from the Rail infrastructure.
- Act as a point of contact for Rail Customer Service issues and devise ways to improve the customer experience, and resolve problems and complaints.
**Who are we looking for?**
Suitable applicants should meet the following criteria:
Essential:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in Port operations.
- Previous experience in Rail operations or logistics/maritime operations
- Ability to work in a pressurise environment that requires a high pace of change to meet deadlines.
- Ability to question existing practices and recommend new and improved ways of working.
- Excellent data analysis and numerical skills
- Excellent IT and every-day tech skills
