Tradewind Recruitment are recruiting for a Special Needs Teacher for a specialist school provision in Leicestershire for children with special education needs and disabilities. The types of SEND the school facilitates learning for are generally complex learningdifficulties and autism.

Due to the nature of this school in particular, the successful Special Needs Teacher will need to demonstrate the natural ability to help children feel relaxed and calm in their learning, to channel positive energy and possess a positive, can-do approachto ensure the welfare and happiness of the young people is of paramount importance. SEND experience is not necessarily essential as the school will consider mainstream primary teachers looking to forge a career within the SEND arena.

Children within the autism spectrum disorder (ASD) are thought to have a specific profile of cognitive strengths and weaknesses - commonly this can be difficulties appreciating others' thoughts and feelings, problems regulating and controlling their behaviourand an enhanced ability to perceive details

The successful Special Needs Teacher will teach the specialised curriculum at EYFS, KS1 & KS2 in small groups and will be adaptable and dynamic so that, whilst any primary trained teacher would be ideal, you can pick up the learning material with confidence.

Due to the nature of the SEND at the school the learning is bespoke and individualised, it is fun and engaging and helps the students prepare for every day life.

You will need:

- A fully enhanced DBS
- Education based references
- QTS
- Proof of right to work in the UK
