Every day will be different, so you can expect to undertake work that's as varied as it is rewarding. Sometimes the role will be tough, you will see & be involved in some challenging circumstances involving your patients in a fast paced environment delivering varied personalised care. That is why we offer mandatory training including auto-enrolment onto our 12-week Care Certificate course.
As a Healthcare Support Worker, you will support teams across Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust to deliver safe and high quality care to all our patients, be adaptable and responsive in order to provide a service that is tailored to meet the needs of the individual.
Whether you are helping feed a patient, undertaking observations, providing personalised care or simply talking to our patients - you will see first hand the impact your role makes every minute you are working.

There is a mandatory requirement before commencing any bank work. Subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks, you will be booked onto a 2-week training course followed by an orientation (shadow) shift on the ward. Please see the below induction dates for upcoming months (course run once monthly), you will be contacted by the Resourcing team to book onto the training once pre-employment checks are completed.
June Induction - 3rd - 14th of June 2024
July Induction - 1st - 12th of July 2024
