**Job summary**:
The Defence School of Electronic and Mechanical Engineering (DSEME) provides electronic and mechanical training for specialist tradesmen, technical leaders and engineering managers in Defence. It is located at MOD Lyneham in Wiltshire. It is responsible for delivering technical training to soldiers, Royal Marines, airmen and officers from all three Services.

DSEME has a mission to train and educate electronic, mechanical and specialist tradesmen, technical leaders and engineering managers in order to meet the requirements of Defence and needs of trainees now and into the future.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

**Job description**:
**Support of the VLE. **Responsible for the support of the VLE, which includes:

- Act as DSEME Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for all fault reporting on DSEME VLE and resolve low-level technical issues with the VLE.
- Ensure the security of the VLE by implementing and managing all security directives as issued by the ITSO and iaw JSP 440.
- Act as DSEME SPOC for all VLE issues; ensuring all relevant VLE-related policy is implemented.

**Administration of VLE Content. **Responsible for the administration of content on the VLE, which includes:

- Administer the VLE structure; in terms of layout and organisation of the course material in line with DSEME agreed standards.
- Assist with the creation of all new courses.
- Administer the Master versions of each course.
- Monitor and report on adherence to DSEME Standing Order SO7183.
- Administer the archiving of courses as and when a cohort has completed, placing the copy in MODNET SharePoint.
- Administer the Reach Back facility - at the point of archiving; attach the cohort of trainees to the reach back master.
- Assist with VLE Course Material Change process management and administration.
- Deliver DSEME ITT Induction presentation to trainees.

**Administration of VLE Accounts. **Responsible for the administration of VLE accounts, which includes:

- Administer the creation of trainee and trainer VLE accounts, which includes the issuing of PUID User names and password details.
- Administer the loading of all trainees into cohorts, onto their relevant course.

**VLE Processes.** Assistance with VLE process administration, which includes:

- All VLE procedures: create a process in writing and ensure availability on the SharePoint Business Support area.
- Maintain and update the procedures/process on a monthly basis.

**IHub Administration. **Responsible for assisting with the core IHub Administration tasks during busy periods or when required to ensure business continuity within the Business Support Department.
- Assist with Administration of MODNET accounts (Authorised Demander role).
- Assist with administration of MODNET O365 Applications including SharePoint.
- Provide General Admin Support as required by Business Support and HQ DSEME.

**Person specification**:

- The Virtual Learning Environment Administrator (VLE Admin) is responsible to the VLE Manager (VLE Mgr) for the effective administration of the VLEs namely LIVE, LIVE D (Development) and LIVE S (Sandpit) owned, or administered by DSEME, in order to conduct training. The VLE Admin is responsible for ensuring authorised trainees, lecturers and trainers have the appropriate access to the VLE’s and their content. The VLE Admin is responsible for ensuring content is loaded onto the VLE LIVE and LIVE S is in accordance with the priority directed by DSEME HQ.**Behaviours**:
