Healthcare Support Worker- Plastic and Burns

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
The shift pattern is rotational 6 and/or 12 hour shifts (24 hours).
(Please note the salary is Pro Rata) for part time hours.
The Health Care Support Worker carries out direct patient care in support of and supervised by a Registered Nurse. The purpose of the care is to:
- Competently perform the necessary technical/invasive/physical aspects of care for this defined patient group.
- Ensure an effective delivery of nursing care is provided to patients and that an acceptable standard is maintained.
- Provide, through Divisional policies, a safe environment for the treatment of patients and protection of staff.
- Participate in Practice Development Programmes as required.
Knowledge, training and experience required:
- Caring disposition preferably with experience working in a caring environment/role.
- Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills/literacy/ numeracy skills
- Ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively in a busy environment.
- Ability to fulfil the requirement of the job description including undertaking NiCHE programme.
