- Normal working days will be Tuesdays (Hull), Thursdays (Hull) and Saturdays (Beverley).
- Customer deliveries on Tuesdays in Hull and the surrounding areas, using company vehicle
- Setting up and running our market stall at Beverley on a Saturday, using company vehicle
- Supporting with other occasional markets and events
- Managing administrative tasks and order preparation for our online orders in time for courier collection (Thursdays)
- Maintain and update customer databases
- Respond to customer inquiries and provide product information
- Support with production of social media content
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis
- Attend and contribute to team meetings
- Represent our brands effectively and positively promote our brand ethos and values

- Must be a driver with a minimum of 3 years driving experience and a full clean license, and ability to drive a very small manual company van
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a customer service or sales role
- Experience working in a food environment would be advantageous
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively sell products and services
- Basic maths skills for processing sales transactions
- Trustworthiness and ability to work effectively and with commitment when unattended
- Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Demonstrable creative flair would be a bonus
- Ability to provide references

We have two businesses - The Whoopie Bakery and The Hull Pie, well known brands in the Hull and East Riding area. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and adaptable individual to join our team as a Sales Assistant for maternity cover. Most important is a passion for our brand, along with the willingness to learn, and a committed and hardworking attitude. We are looking for someone flexible and adaptable who finds work rewarding, cares about positively representing our brand, and takes the initiative to get things done and support us wherever needed.

Our current staff describe working for us as ‘fun, flexible, supportive, friendly, with lots of nice food’. The role itself is fun and varied; our team really enjoy the sense of community at markets, where other traders are highly friendly and supportive, and our loyal customer base is a joy to serve. We have a very loyal customer base in Hull with The Hull Pie and are building this nationally with both businesses since launching our mail order service. Every interaction with our customers contributes to positively maintaining our brand identity.
