It is an exciting time to join Lewisham in our developing Family Hubs We are looking for people who are passionate and motivated about making a difference with children, young people and families; through providing immediate support, signposting and onward referrals.

In Lewisham, we recognise that investing in holistic early interventions, via Family Hubs, to support families, we can prevent families from experiencing crises and improves outcomes for children and young people. We have high aspirations for all our children across our diverse communities and put local people at the heart of decision-making, working in partnership with them to provide quality services that are responsive, effective, and efficient.

**The role**
The Family Navigators will be the first point of contact for families and young people who visit the Family Hubs for advice and support. The Family Navigators will work with multi-agency teams of professionals and will be proactive in finding ways to engage families who would benefit from but do not visit Family Hubs, e.g., through outreach and home visiting. They will assess the initial needs of families and assist them by signposting and referring to the relevant services.

Location
We are based across Lewisham, with the main office in Catford SE6, an area that has excellent transport links and is just 15mins from London Bridge. As a Family Navigator you will be based in one of the 4 hub areas in the borough.

The service is community based, and Family Navigators will need to be in the Family Hubs full time, however, some meetings will be virtual.

**What we’re looking for**

About You:

- Experience of delivering of high quality, support to children, young people, and their families
- A track record of working collaboratively to successfully build relationships and partnerships, and the ability to establish trust and credibility.
- Ability to engage positively with families and young people
- A creative and solution focussed approach to challenges and a commitment to continued development of skills and expertise
- An understanding of effective practice, child and adolescent development, family support models and the importance of contextual working and environmental factors.
- Motivation to embrace anti-discriminatory and anti-racist practice
