**About the team**

You'll be joining a small, high performing team which manages the financial control and reporting of Praetura Ventures Limited group and Praetura Group Limited.

The team works closely with the wider finance team and management to support and provide information for commercial insight into the business. Being a deadline driven role, the work is fast paced, varied, and challenging, providing plenty of opportunity to develop knowledge and skills, creatively solve problems and support the business in achieving its goals.

**About the role**

The Group Accounts Assistant will report into the Divisional Financial Controller and will be based in our Manchester office.

Main duties include, but are not limited to:

- Mentoring and reviewing work of the Group Finance and Accounts Apprentice across accounts receivable and accounts payable, ensuring accurate postings made to relevant entity ledgers, in accordance with Group accounting policies
- Ownership for the preparation of the monthly management account packs for the relevant entities alongside the Group Finance and Accounts Apprentice.
- Preparation of quarterly VAT returns for required entities.
- Divisional allocation of transactions as appropriate within ledgers.
- To review, alongside the Financial Controller, processes for continual improvement to further develop the financial processes and control environment.
- Assist with the preparation of year end financial statements for the relevant entities.
- Preparation of information for auditors and corporation tax advisors as required.
- Dependent on experience, this role may involve working alongside our payroll administrator in oversight of the Group payroll process, including liaison with external outsource providers.
- This includes accurate payment and reconciliation of all payroll processes including accurate preparation, filling, and payment of all employment related taxes.

**Who we're looking for**
- Part qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and a desire to develop their skills further. Have a strong eye for detail and accuracy.
- A methodical and logical thinker.
- A team player who can work to deadlines.
- Experience in a financial services (desirable, not essential).
