**IT Risk and Resilience Officer
- **(Permanent, Hybrid working)**

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced IT Risk and Resilience professional to advance their career with Gateshead Council.

It is an extremely active period of change within Gateshead as we look to implement our Strategic Action Plan for IT, and we are looking for an experienced IT Risk and Resilience Officer to help us fulfil that plan. Working within Gateshead Council’s Cyber Security Team and reporting to the Cyber Security Manger, you will focus primarily on creating and leading on the provision of a comprehensive risk management and business continuity planning and testing programme within IT Services.

We are looking to appoint an IT Risk and Resilience Officer to lead on the creation of a comprehensive risk management and business continuity program in line with the Council’s Policy and procedures - ensuring that IT Services, and the wider Council understand their IT and Cyber related risks to help us fulfil our policy requirements.

You will be responsible for:

- Creating and supporting the provision of a comprehensive risk management and business continuity programme within IT Services, including the development and implementation of systems, processes and guidance.
- Creating, managing and facilitating a comprehensive testing programme of the risk management and business continuity procedures within IT Services. Maintenance of the strategic and operational risk registers and business continuity plans for IT Services, ensuring they are up to date and that a consistent approach has been applied.
- Working closely with services across the Council to ensure that IT and cyber related risk management processes are embedded and are used to support business decisions.
- Building and maintaining strong links with other services and teams across the Council to support the Business Continuity Framework, specifically cyber resilience planning.
- Developing and delivering clear guidance and training to members, officers and other stakeholders across the Council to help mitigate IT and Cyber risk and to strengthen business continuity planning.
- The successful postholder must be suitably qualified and have experience of Risk Management and Business Continuity processes within local government.

You must possess excellent problem-solving skills and a strong determination to achieve your goals with the aim of improving the Council's cyber security posture across all services.
