**Job summary**:
Based as a lodger unit in HMS COLLINGWOOD, Navy Warfare Publications (NWP) is the single Navy Command authority responsible for the creation and distribution of the Fleet Commander’s operational publications. An Information Support Assistant is required to assist the Publishing Support Officer manage the iHub day-to-day business of the organisation’s Authors and wider Royal Navy.

**Job description**:

- The Information Support Assistant is responsible for delivering a range of critical administrative support services with additional roles such as Managing Information and Contracting, Purchasing & Finance (CP&F). Finally, electronic publishing and creating in house websites for which full training will be given.**Person specification**:
This role is a key part in the Navy Warfare Publications (NWP) organisation and requires someone who engages with colleagues and customers at all levels to provide a high-quality service. The successful applicant will need good MS Office and SharePoint knowledge, have effective communication and interpersonal skills as well as being proactive and able to work cohesively with all staff and customers. There are times that work priorities change at short notice and the post holder will also need to deliver on these requirements. The Information Support Assistant (ISA) is part of the information hub and responsible for providing advice and support to both NWP staff and customers by e mail and phone systems. These are predominately queries dealing with both electronic and hard copy publications supporting the RN, RFA and NATO. The ISA manages the NWP Protective Document Registers for all receipt, and holdings in NWP plus dispatch of compact disks or hard copy publications worldwide.

The ISA also provides an impex service for staff moving information between MODNET (Ministry of Defence Network) and our local area network.

The ISA aids the publications Support Officer manage the NWP Defnet pages on the MOD IT network and the Defence Gateway including publishing electronic publications. The ISA will also manage the NWP SharePoint sites and supply access to customers through permission groups.

The ISA will arrange to pay quarterly print equipment hire costs, order stationery and printer consumables on the Contracting, Purchasing and Finance (CP&F) IT system. Obtain commercial quotes and create invoices for payment of commercial printing of publications on CP&F. Advise management of monthly and annual expenditure.
