**Job overview**:
An exciting opportunity is available for a highly motivated, responsible and caring individual to join the Community Ageing Well team based at Rochdale infirmary.

As a Therapy Assistant you will work alongside qualified Physiotherapists and Specialist Nurses within a strong multidisciplinary team working with patients who have rehabilitation needs.

You will assist Therapy staff in planning and delivering effective treatment sessions and you will carry a delegated case load. As a Therapy Assistant you will contribute to the smooth running of the department and this will include some housekeeping and administration duties.

You will have good communication and interpersonal skills along with previous experience of working within a health or social care setting.

You will receive training, support, supervision and appraisals.

**Please note that the funding for this role is fixed and will end on 31st March 2025.**

**Main duties of the job**:
You will be part of a multi-disciplinary service that provides assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for patients in a community residential setting.
As Therapy Assistant you will work closely with a range of therapy staff and have robust supervision and a career development plan.

- NVQ level 3 in health or social care or equivalent
- Good general education to GCSE level or equivalent including English and Maths

**Desirable criteria**:

- Foundation degree in health and social care

**Knowledge**:
**Essential criteria**:

- Have worked within a therapy service and have experience of carrying out therapeutic interventions with people with disabilities
- Have experience of lone working
- An understanding of the impact of disability or illness on function
- Knowledge of therapy assessments and interventions
- Health, safety and risk awareness

**Desirable criteria**:

- Has worked in falls or general rehabilitation in acute or community
- Supervision skills
