We are seeking a dynamic, highly motivated senior nurse to join the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health. The Matron provides strong clinical leadership within the services is highly visible and accessible to service users and staff. Leading by example, the Matron will drive up standards of clinical care within the Directorate. The Matron has the responsibility and authority to get the essential components of care right for children and their parents/carers clean wards and departments, quality care, ensuring that children are treated with dignity and respect, resolving problems and ensuring high standards are maintained and delivered throughout the services that include Inpatient, outpatient, community and specialist nursing.

The Directorate team are ambitious in striving to achieve excellence and have a number of plans to improve both the environment and care delivery through planned refurbishment schemes. The Matron will have a particular responsibility to support Clinical Governance and the above service improvement and ensure the active involvement of patients and carers in the way services are developed, delivered and evaluated.
