**What will I be doing?**
The School Library Service is committed to improving the literacy of young people by supplying resources to assist teaching and the wider curriculum.

We are an experienced team, committed to uphold the values of Somerset Council. We are all passionate and determined to provide good quality resources to our service users.

We’re working to improve the lives of children here in Somerset - and you’ll be a key part of that. Your day-to-day work will involve:

- Selecting appropriate resources to service users’ requirements.
- Using the Library Management System (Heritage Cirqa) to issue and return stock.
- Shelving returned items and maintaining good order within the library.
- Administration tasks associated with the day to day running of a library.
- Training will be provided.

**What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?**
We offer ongoing support, training and guidance to help you be the best you can be. But it will really help if you:

- Have experience of working in a school environment.
- Have knowledge and experience of working in an educational environment.
- Have experience of working in a customer service, library or office environment.
- Are educated to GCSE level including Maths and English Level 4/ Grade C or equivalent.
- Have sound organisational skills and a can-do attitude.
- Are familiar with the National Curriculum.

The Salary for the role is grade 15 - £10.79 per hour.
