**What is the role?**

We are recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join our busy Accounts team. The role will be responsible for our Purchase Ledger function, reporting into the Finance Manager.

**The role will include**:

- Lead for the Purchase ledger function for the South Coast region
- Process a high volume of supplier invoices, including matching to orders
- Tracking and matching proof of delivery notes
- Carry out regular supplier statement reconciliations
- Provide support in compiling payment runs on a monthly basis, ensuring all supplier invoices are uploaded
- Policing correct ledger coding and department approvals
- Advising on and checking correct VAT treatment for invoices
- Any other accounting duties reasonably required by the Finance Manager

**What we need from you?**
- Experience in a purchase ledger role in a busy accounts department is essential
- Previous experience in the construction industry and dealing with subcontractors would be an advantage but not essential
- Must be organised, diligent, have a good eye for detail and able to work under pressure
- Team player with good people skills
- Ability to challenge internal business partners (on site and in office) and suppliers where appropriate
