Head of Supplier Quality Assurance

VANRATH are assisting one of Northern Ireland’s most recognisable manufacturers with the recruitment of a **Head of Supplier Quality Assurance**. Fantastic company to work in, one of the best company cultures in NI.

Shifts are held over **Monday to Friday **(1 Hour Lunch). No weekend working. **Permanent** position.

This role will be based at the company's **Ballymena **office.

**Salary**

£65,000 - £80,000 + other Fantastic Additional Benefits (Top Company) & Progression Opportunities

**Responsibilities**
- Visit and validate new suppliers, monitor critical suppliers, and resolve problems related to parts detected during inspection/assembly phases.
- Define internal SQA KPI, monitor them and ensure proper actions against KPIs not achieved.
- Create a correct recharge process when supplier problems impact on our production / supply process.
- Respond to material complaints if needed, coordinate to put in place containment/quarantine actions and returning defective materials.
- Completion of root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventative countermeasures.
- Reduction of reject quantities rejects costs, quantity of R2’s and indirect costs caused by poor supplier quality.
- Implementation of solutions in conjunction with suppliers to solve field service and warranty issues.
- Implementation of all relevant processes and procedures within the Quality Management System
- Undertake supplier on-site audits in line with the supplier audit schedule including the managing of any corrective actions that arise.
- Undertake internal QMS audits.
- Supervision of quality personnel with regards to the resolution of internal / external material quality concerns.
- Establish, update, and implement quality sign-off instructions, standards and documentation for all bought-in materials

**The Ideal Person**
- A trade qualification in engineering or related field, obtained through a four-year apprenticeship program.
- At least five years of management experience in a quality role within a manufacturing industry.
- Proficient in defining, monitoring, and reporting key performance indicators (KPIs) for the quality team.
- Skilled in rejecting non-conforming material through a systematic process.
- Experienced in handling material complaints from suppliers and resolving them effectively.
