Harper Macleod are currently seeing an apprentice to join their Risk & Compliance team within their Edinburgh office.

Based in the city centre, you will work for an organisation that provide expert advice on areas such as personal injury, employment law and medical negligence. You will pro-actively provide an efficient, organised and professional service by ensuring that the team have the appropriate support for all aspects of their work activities.

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop within a business that has supported over 80 apprentices through their qualification in partnership with QA In 2023 alone they have onboarded over 20 apprentices into their offices across Scotland. You will be working towards an SCQF Level 6 Diploma.

**You will be responsible for**:

- Act as first point of contact for clients via telephone. You will then log this information into Lawsoft (a CRM system) which will then be accessed by internal teams. Over time, you will become a superuser of Lawsoft
- Oversee with the collation of data and input data into Microsoft Excel which will then allow you to run risk reports. You will use this information to analyse conflict checks with routine audits and assess queries within the data
- Manage accounts on Worksite (a document management system) where you will log information for Harper Macleod's risk and compliance purposes
- Assist the risk officer with all data related to the anti-financial crime audits (e.g. AML, Sanctions, Fraud, Tax Evasion, Bribery etc)
- Assist the risk officer with day to day queries about HM Policy and standards and compliance
- Provide and build awareness of regulatory risk and compliance within the organisation
- Ad-hoc projects

**What you need to succeed in the role**:

- Ability to maintain full confidentiality with all requests
- Attention to detail
- Be a good communicator
- Strong organisational and planning skills
- Competent with Microsoft Office, Excel, MS Teams, Outlook
- Be able to cope with flexibility and changing demands

**Salary**:
£19,838 per annum

**Working hours**:
35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm

**Future prospects**:
Should you perform well in this role there is an opportunity for you to take up a permanent position at the end of your qualification. Many of our previous apprentices are still with the company. Future salary will be discussed should you be offered a permanent role.

On completion, as well as the valuable work experience you have gained, you get a nationally recognised qualification at SCQF Level 6.
