We require two highly motivated and dedicated individuals to work within our busy Microbiology Laboratory and culture bio-banking facility. The core function of the facility is the culturing, identification and bio-banking of bacterial and fungal isolates related to the infection arrays being developed at Randox.

This role will be based at our Science Park site based in Antrim, Northern Ireland.

**The Role**:

- Isolate and maintain cultures of bacteria/other microorganisms for R&D and commercial.
- Identify and classify of microorganisms using microbiological, biochemical, and molecular methods.
- Implement and maintain accurate stock control and data-base records for microbiological control material.
- Maintain extensive and accurate laboratory records of methods, experimental details, results, and data analysis.
- Always adhere to laboratory standard operating procedures/work instructions to ensure consistency of results and to satisfy regulatory compliance requirements.
- Assist with other duties in relation to microbiological quality and laboratory management, as appropriate.
- Prepare and effectively communicate laboratory results to peers and management.
- Contribute research ideas and actively participate in the planning of research activity.
- Participate in writing of scientific reports and presentations.
- Assist the introduction and evaluation of novel procedures, as required from time to time.
- Essential: _
- Experience in data management and proficiency in Microsoft Word.
- Possess excellent aseptic techniques and ability to perform a broad range of standard and specialised microbiological techniques, according to standard operating procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in the management and safe handling of clinical samples.
- Desirable: _
- Masters degree or higher in Molecular
- Previous experience working in a microbiology laboratory.
- Experience working with anaerobic bacteria and fungi would be an advantage.
