At CooperSurgical we are currently looking to recruit a** Buyer **for our UK supply team**.** You will report directly to the supply chain manager located in Falmouth, and the position is hybrid, with office in Falmouth Cornwall, UK.

**Position**

As a **Buyer** with CooperSurgical your primary role will be to support the planning and procurement of all production related materials to insure cost-effective deliveries. You will have a solid understanding of procurement processes; indirect and direct spend, forecasting and issuing purchase orders, and negotiating with suppliers. As a manufacturing site we rely on suppliers across the globe, and as a buyer you will be responsible for managing them. We make risk-based analysis of current and potential new suppliers; evaluating cost, delivery performance, and defect rate alongside the quality department will be part of the buyer’s responsibility. You thrive in a dynamic, regulated environment where your daily role will involve communicating with internal stakeholders such as quality, production, engineering and planning. You are self-motivated and reliable, with a positive and trustworthy personality. With a can-do attitude you will support your colleagues, as they in turn support you, sharing skills and knowledge along the way.

**Your key responsibilities**
- Initiate purchase orders and forecasts with suppliers as dictated by the MRP report
- Develop good working relations with suppliers, evaluate them regularly and identify new suppliers as required
- Initiate negotiation with suppliers
- Ensure cost-saving
- Assist the global supply chain team in the development of supplier agreements, higher level price negotiations and delivery terms.

**Your Qualifications**

o Educational background: A qualification in procurement would be beneficial but is not required.

o 2+ years of experience within a manufacturing procurement role

o Strong communication skills
- o Responsive, curious and with a proactive attitude

o Team player

o Fluent English
