Roadworker Level 1

**The job itself**:
A vacancy has arisen, in the Highway Maintenance team for a Roadworker level 1 based at the Carnaby depot, the Highway maintenance teams deliver the day-to-day maintenance of the highway and footway networks within the East Riding. Ranging from small scale patching, drainage and footway repairs to county wide surfacing, together with general highway construction and maintenance works.

We seek a reliable, hardworking and enthusiastic individual, to join our successful team in the delivery of a range of projects.

You will work a standard 37-hour week Monday to Friday plus an additional 2 hour’s contractual overtime. Additional overtime is also worked on a planned basis with the potential to increase the basic salary (£23,028 inc, contractual overtime) up to £27,000 per year. This year’s pay award is still under negotiation with trade unions meaning this figure will change.

The Highways department also provides, a Highways out of hours emergency standby service throughout the year. This service is to attend emergency situations which occur on the Highway network outside of normal working hours, and you may be called upon to participate in this standby rota.
